Why sea water?

From the ancient Greeks to luxury spa resorts, the health benefits of sea water have been recognised for thousands of years. What makes it so good?

Pure sea water is rich in the different salts, minerals and trace elements important for overall health and

wellbeing. Our body cells are physiologically close to sea water.

In the early 1970s, a French man, François Herlemont, set about developing a way of delivering the health benefits of sea water straight to the nose as a gentle mist: a sea water nasal spray, called Stérimar.

Very quickly, Stérimar was freeing noses all over France. Today, it’s used in over 80 countries around the world.

Medical research

In medical research, Stérimar has been proven to provide natural relief from Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) disorders and ensure restoration of nasal breathing. Stérimar has also been proven to restore natural nasal functions ensuring the nose to fully work as the first line of defense against air-borne contamination.

Stérimar is trusted by health professionals and loved by thousands all around the UK.

A technologically advanced product

The sea water used in Stérimar is collected in deep waters off the coast of Northern France to guarantee its purity. After collection, it is filtered, diluted and microbiologically controlled to produce an aseptic sea water solution, without preservatives.

Stérimar has the most advanced spray system to guarantee purity, efficacy and safety:

Very Gentle Spray

Safe - the nozzle has been specifically designed to comfortably fit all nostril sizes* and cannot be inserted too far into the nose. The baby nozzle has a protective flange for increased reassurance.

Efficient - the gentle microdiffusion spray disperses the solution in very fine droplets for prolonged contact on nasal mucosa and deeper penetration within the nose.

Unique - The bespoke advocator design gives an even distribution maximising the therapeutic solution.

Gentle - Designed to have low pressure for comfort and to avoid risks of inhalation. Stérimar baby pressure is 25% lower than Stérimar Isotonic ‘Nasal Hygiene’.

Simple Finger Nozzle

Simple - Easy application with one index finger. Simple to use even with a moving child or weak fingers.

Economic - Multiple dispersement for long lasting use (approx. 300 sprays for the 100ml versions and approx. 150 sprays for the 50ml versions).

Clean - The anti-return valve prevents contamination of the solution with potential external contaminants allowing long-lasting application.

Convenient - Can be used upside down and at different angles without loss of dispersement until solution runs out.

* Stérimar can be used with complete safety on babies, children and adults. (Tests organised by the National Test Laboratory – Laboratoire National d’Essai LNE GMED).

Stérimar has been trusted by health professionals in the UK for more than 10 years.

Stérimar is manufactured in the UK to the medical device guidelines (ISO 13485)
